CAMERA OPERATOR STEP BY STEP HOW TO HANDLE CAMERA AND DISPLAY A VERY GOOD SHOOT
First of all, I want to define camera and the functions  
WHAT IS CAMERA?  Camera is a device for taking still and moving pictures or photographs, and a person who handles or controls the camera is called camera operator, in still photograph, are called photographer, while someone who handles video camera is video camera operator, in movie or film industries    is called D.O.P (DIRETOR OF PHOTOGRAPH)

TIPS TO BECOME A GOOD PHOTOGGRAPHER OR D.O.P
Whether you are a video camera operator or a still photograph camera operator, you are doing the same work of keeping memories alive, the only difference is that video moves while still photo does not move unless in the process of editing of video clips, the film editor walks on the still photos to make some movement yet not like video, For example, a person seen in videos speaks while someone in still photograph can’t speak. Note: A video operator does more work than a still photographer, the video camera operator directs the positioning and also control the people and on stage from walking out of shoot.
THE TIPS TO BECOME A GOOD CAMERATOR
1.          BE FRIENDLY: With the spirit of friendship, you will become a fantastic camera operator. Making friend with people will stand as a gate way to make your business a successful one.
2.          DRESSING & PACKAGING:   amera operator always appear very nice & neat,  code of dressing is another easy tips to take your business to  a promotional stand. Make sure that your shoes are polished, and your cloth washed and properly pressed. Remember that they said that the way you dress, is as well the way people will address you.
3.          FOCUS:  Avoid distraction when you are behind camera. Most  times, some camera men and women face distraction mainly by invites-trying to take shoot out the main program they are invited to, always know that there’s time for everything. So you’re not permitted to take pictures  out the program that you are invited to, focus to make sure you cover the most important event that you are invited for; because one good turn deserves another.
4.          PRESERVE YOUR EQUIPMENT:  Be very careful about  your camera and battery, also your memory cards charger, and things like that, it’s also advisable to have an extra    charged battery. Before the program date, check all your equipments-test them to be sure that everything is intact, to avoid disappointment at the occasion ground, or location.

  CAMERA & FUNCTIONS
Having gone through the brief definition of camera & men, let’s  move to camera operator proper. There’re different types of cameras, you should first read the manuals very well-If you don’t have manual maybe you rented it, you will see direction listed on the camera’s body, then read it before you use,  
MOVIE   OR FILM PRODUCTION:  Movie or film production is the process of producing video contents. It’s the equivalent of filmmaking, but images are recorded digitally instead of on film stock. There are three stages of video production: Pre-production, production proper and post production.
Pre-production, involves all of the planning aspects of the filmmaking production process before filming begins. This includes scriptwriting, scheduling, logistics, administrative duties. 
PRODUCTION PROPER: This is the phase of the film production where all the crew members and the actor gathers together to form the script and bring it into reality.
POST PRODUCTION: The first phase of post production is the phase where the shooting is over, and then the clips are submitted to editor for assembling of the clips and the editing to make the film the ready. EDITING:  is a very important phase of every film  production, Editor plays a very big role in video production in the editing he will gather every prices of the videos, combine them together to become united story ready for the viewers.
SECOND PHASE OF THE POST PRODUCTION; the second part of post production is when the movie is ready to be watched, by this time the film is ready in market place.( it is posted out for sell ) 

       TYPES OF VIDEO MAKING
·                    EVENT VIDEO: Video production can be used at sporting, schools, stages, welding, church, burial, birthdays. Similar events to provide recording of the event, the propose  of the event video is to keep memories alive and for remembrance.
·                    DISTANT EDUCATION VIDEO PRODUCTION: Distant education video production or video tutorial is designed to provide online training, this is done in different business/professional field, these videos are shoot, edit, and formatted with special formats and upload to internet.
·                    INTERNET VIDEO: Most internet marketing videos serves the purpose is to interaction with the audience. The two main types of internet marketing videos are: Traditional video, which aim to sell product to customers, and reference videos, which are designed to keep customers on the site.

1.          EXTREME WIDE SHOOT: This is a shoot very far from the stage camera man takes this shoot from a far distant, here images are very small.
2.          WIDE SHOOT: Here the images are seen very full everything on the stage or set is full. 
3.          FULL SHOOT: The image is seen very full.
4.          MEDIUM FULL SHOOT: Camera cut the image within the knee angle.
5.          MEDIUM SHOOT: Image is seen from the pike level.
6.          MEDIUM C.U: Image is seen by the loins.
7.          CLOSE UP: Image is seen before the neck.
8.          EXTREME C.U: Image is seen by the lips.
9.          CUTAWAY: He is seen holding something but his face was not seen.
10.       CUTIN: here somebody walk to the shoot.
11.      CUT AWAY: He is seen waving hand
12.      POV SHOOT: (Point of View)
13.      DOUBLE SHOOT: Here two people are in the shoot.
14.      (OTS): Over the shoulder-the person’s shoulder is seen while the other person’s face is seen.
15.      Sing –shoot only person face is seen.

17.      ESTABLISHMENT SHOOT: Here only object or house is seen.
18.      MASTER SHOOT: his shows everything on the stage.

What is film editing?
Film editing, is an act of bringing together the entire shoot from the camera to a editing soft ware’s in a in a computer beautiful   store and an attractive videos for the viewers. Film editing is a part of post-production as i said earlier.  Other aspect of editing include  sound tracks, mixing, computer generated effects. The major job or work of and editor include joining together venous shots into scenes, and the scenes into a finish movie. They usually work closely with the director to realize his or her vision

STEP: ONE (1)  Choosing your software .The most common question that normally come across an editor is what application software  do make use of, there’re recommended soft wares such as: adobe premiere pro(pc or Mac).
(2)    TRASFERING FOOTAGE AND ORGANISING PROJECTS: After you have gotten your software installed in your computer, the next you need to do is to transfer your footage from camera to your computer. Note: your hard drive must be from 350g-1,500g, also you must have external hard drive for backup .If you are using camera or DSLR. Then you ‘ll need to copy your footage from your SD card to your computer , if your footage is from Iphone then can connect the computer via and cable and USB
(3)    Assembling The Shots: It’s not every shot that you use, that’s the essence of taking so many shots. Note: during assembling & editing you must be patient enough.
(3)    CUT AND PLACE FOOTAGE:
Now this is the stage you have been waiting for: now let’s start go the footages you mark drag them to you timelines.                                    What’s a timeline? A timeline is a long line where all your clips can be placed from to the ending. (finished work) you can rearrange your chips, eg if  placed a footage where it suppose not to be is not a big deal, just the clips and position it at a suitable position (is all about drag and drop).
(5)   CLEAN UP YOUR TIMELINE           
Immediately as you assemble all your clips on the timeline, start cross checking the clips and cutting off un-wanted areas of your footages:eg where there’re grammatical errors- If you see a long pause cut it off. Cleaning accept in editing is very import, because where is all finished goods video lays.
(6)    ADDS EFFECTS:  After cut or trim off unwanted clips from your footage, the next thing to do adding of effects to job, effects application is your job very import because that’s actracts your viewer time to watch your movie or films. There are different kinds of effects:
   I.         Effects: here you can add light effects to some clip that are dark also you reduce light where light is too much.
 II.        Colour balance: here you can as well add or remove colour, you can also chang green to black and white and more colours like that.
III.        Lighting/thunder effects: normally we know that lightings and thunder goes together, so in movie you can as well combine both together to look as if it is real; this kinds of application are always used when there is a shocking scenes:
HOW TO PUT THE THUNDER/LIGHTING EFFECTS
a.   Download thundering sound effects from YouTube drag the sound to audio timeline which is under the video timeline –drop the audio sound effect just where you want the audio to open.
b.  Create your montage: this is the introduction part of your edited video, note: first in pressure matter, the first thing your audience will see the introduction part of the video which is called montage, this is what the viewer will see immediately see as they slot the CD plate,  so design it very well to arose interest to your viewers.
c.   Music/sound background: another essential step in film editing is the aspect of sound production you must make sure that you use a match able music and sound effects to compliment your edited video
